The Finance Industry has always fascinated me because of the challenges faced by people. Anything which has money at stake is always risky. The Ups and Downs of this Industry is the real beauty. However, the uncertainties might be a factor in many individuals backing off from joining this industry. In my opinion, sustaining in this field requires wealth, and being sharp-minded plays the most vital role. The Series Billions is also associated with The Finance Industry. We’ll talk about the intense rivalry between the two most wealthy persons who race to become the richest in the whole market.

Introduction

Created by the trio of most experienced and talented individuals, David Levien (Writer of Rounder), Brian Koppelman (Writer of Rounders), and Andrew Ross Sorkin (Financial Journalist), the Series aired for the first time on 18th January 2016. The Series has been set in the most notable and prime destination known as the largest financial centres like Connecticut and New York. It has an IMDB rating of 8.4/10 and has received 88% of Rotten Tomatoes.

Starring Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis in the lead roles and Maggie Siff, Malin Åkerman, Toby Leonard Moore, David Costabile, Condola Rashād, Asia Kate Dillon, Jeffrey DeMunn, Kelly AuCoin, Corey Stoll, and Frank Grillo in the supporting roles.

Trust me when I say this, any movie with a Finance Element makes the film more intellectual and worthy. Because understanding the market of finance itself makes you intelligent and innovative. Starting from “Wolf of Wall Street” to “Succession” to “Black Friday” to “Suits” to “Billions”, these all movies are themselves like a cherry on top of the cake.

Overview of the Series

Some of the instances in the plot might reflect the real-life incidents of financial crimes, white-collar crimes, fraud by federal authorities. The Series has taken its inspiration from the investigations undertaken by Preet Bahara, the United States Attorney General for the Southern District of New York, starting from 2009, which ended in 2017. Preet Bharara’s trial of hedge fund manager Steven A. Cohen of S.A.C. Capital Advisors in 2013 loosely impacted the first season.

The Second Season was deeply influenced by the Salomon Brothers’ manipulation of U.S. Treasury bonds in 1991. The Series also interspersed some fascinating subplots with Wendy Rhoades (as Maggie Siff), who is a psychiatrist turned performance coach, Mike “Wags” Wagner (as David Costabile), Axelrod’s right-hand man, and Taylor Mason (as Asia Kate Dillon), a market analyst.

The Story Revolves around the Two Finance Market Geeks, Chuck Rhodes, the one who is an honest, sincere yet ruthless U.S. Attorney General, and the other one is Bobby ‘Axe’ Axelrod, who’s the kingpin hedge fund manager. Bobby has attained wealth mainly through illegal means, to be precise, by committing white-collar crimes. His demand for high returns leads him to prosecution by Chuck Rhodes, who’s determined to outsmart him in the Finance Market. So there takes place a battle between them where they are in constant willpower to outdo each other.

The Finance Industry Series Billions is set to release its remaining five episodes of Season 5- Part 2 on September 5th, 2021, at 9 p.m. ET. In short, the five episodes follow the Sixth Season, as it was said when it was renewed back in October 2020. After all five episodes are streamed, it is speculated that Part 2 of Season 5 will go off the air by October 3rd, 2021. The Episodes are of approximately 60 minutes each.

If the timeline is like by October 3rd, 2021 the Season 5 would get over wholly, then taking into consideration the Script Writing, Selection of Supporting Cast, Executing, Location Selection, Filming, and Editing requires a minimum of 6 months and also taking into consideration the COVID situation we must extend the time to 7-8 months. So with this schedule, we might expect Billions Season 6 to premiere by the First Quarter of 2022 or the Second Quarter of 2022. However, we can’t say anything with confirmation as the showrunners have planned to premiere Season 6 early in the next year, and the creative team, along with the actors, have shot the episodes to see it soon.

Who all Would Return in Billions Season 6?

As the Creative Team and Cast filmed the rest of five episodes of Season 5 Part 2 and the entire Sixth instalment, it is guaranteed that the cast would remain the same that is:- Paul Giamatti (as Charles “Chuck” Rhoades, Jr.), Damian Lewis (as Robert “Bobby” Axelrod AKA Axe) in the lead roles. Maggie Siff (as Wendy Rhoades), David Costabile (as Mike “Wags” Wagner), Condola Rashād (as Kate Sacker), and Asia Kate Dillon (as Taylor Amber Mason). Jeffrey DeMunn (as Charles Rhoades, Sr.), Kelly AuCoin (as “Dollar” Bill Stearn), and Corey Stoll (as Michael Thomas Aquinius Prince) in the supporting roles. In addition, we might see Frank Grillo playing the role of Nico Tanner.

Expected Plot for Billions Season 6

In the middle of the Season finale in Season 5- Part 1, Axe seems to get clattered and is on the verge of making the biggest mistake he had to pay for, but only then does Taylor save the day. However, Axe runs away from the manoeuvre when he learns about the deal made by Taylor and Wendy with Michael Prince. Not thinking about the long-term profit he could gain from the deal, Ax denies meeting anyone or seeing any reason. Moreover, seeing Wendy with Nico is making things way more difficult for Axe. On the other hand, Chuck deals with his father’s health crisis, meanwhile keeping an eye on his prey, Axe.

Season 5 Part 2 will kick start just from where it left. The clash between Axe and powerful billionaire Michael Prince will get messier as Michael Prince will subsequently find an ally in Chuck Rhoades. After that, everything would be a cakewalk for Chuck, as he will be on the top of the moon with his latest weapon (Prince) against Axe, which would be the reason for Axe crashing down. New alliances would be formed, and the older ones would be broken as per the convenience. This could put everything to stake for those who are getting involved.
