Money Heist, a hugely successful Netflix series in Spain, is full of twists and turns. Even though the program ended in November 2017 and had a relatively short-lived buzz among Antena 3 viewers, no one could predict what would happen next. Instead, money Heist became an immediate global hit after Netflix bought the rights to the crime series. In a recent interview with Collider, actress Ursula Corbero said that the series’ unexpected popularity was mirrored in the millions of fans she and the rest of the cast earned following the series’ launch on the streaming site.
Because of the growing popularity, the show expanded the previously completed part 2 to a part 3, then a part 4, and now a part 5. Money Heist Part 4 saw a lot of action, and now that the wait for Money Heist Part 5 is nearly over, we’ve distilled what we know thus far about this frequently surprising and thrilling Netflix original.
Here’s everything we know so far about the release date, probable narrative, returning characters for Money Heist’s last season, and possible spinoffs.
Money Heist Season 4: Recap
Money Heist is a crime, mystery, and action series. The narrative focuses on an extraordinary bunch of criminals who attempt to pull off the most flawless theft in Spanish history by stealing 2.4 billion euros from Spain’s Royal Mint. Alex Pina developed the series, which is produced by Atresmedia and financed by Vancouver Media. The series is recognised for its engaging narrative, intriguing characters, and dramatic tale twists and turns. Now that Money Heist season 5 has been confirmed, here’s a look back at what happened to the characters in season 4.
Álvaro Morte as El Profesor
El Profesor falls in love with Detective Raquel Murillo in the fourth season. They appear to be in love with one other. Murillo even assists them in their final robbery, and the two go on to accomplish it together.
Úrsula Corberó as Tokyo
Tokyo and the crew use their final theft to free Rio, detained by authorities for his previous crime. They then come to his aid. Tokyo, on the other hand, is heartbroken by her Rio split. They even try to repair their relationship, but Rio refuses to return.
Fernando Soto as Ángel
Angel liked Detective Raquel Murillo in Season 4 of Money Heist. On the other hand, the detective was not interested in him since she was seeing El Profesor.
Jaime Lorente as Denver
Denver falls in love with Mónica Gaztambide, the Bank’s secretary, in Season 4 of Money Heist. However, she falls in love with the Bank’s Arturo Román and becomes pregnant. She does, however, travel to Denver, where he welcomes her and the baby.
Alba Flores as Nairobi
In the fourth season of Money Heist, Ganda (Jose Manuel Poga) escapes and kidnaps Nairobi. He then tortures her, and in episode 6, he holds her at gunpoint and shoots her in the head after making it appear as though Gandia would give her up in return for his release.
Money Heist Season 5: Expected Release Date
Money Heist may be approaching the end of its story, but not all at once. Netflix has announced that Money Heist Season 5 will be released in two parts, making the finale even more gripping. The first half, consisting of five episodes, will air on September 3rd. Then, on December 3rd, the last five episodes of Money Heist will be published. So, certainly, the Professor (Alvaro Morte) and our favourite gang of thieves must depart, but not so soon.
Because Money Heist Part 5 Volume 1 will be released soon, Netflix has already released a trailer for the first half of the final chapter of Money Heist. Part 5 Vol. 1 looks to be very intense from what we’ve seen so far! The stakes are enormous when Sierra (Najwa Nimiri) and the police are about to overcome the Bank of Spain’s weak thieves. The video promises several action-packed scenes and several unanswered concerns regarding what will happen next.
The trailer for the second half of Part 5, which will not be released until December, has yet to be released by Netflix. So in the future, keep an eye on this page. We’ll update it whenever the Part 5, Volume 2 trailer is published.
Money Heist Season 5: Expected Cast
The outstanding Spanish ensemble that readily convinced the audience that maybe the so-called evil guys aren’t that terrible after all is part of the buzz around this Netflix original. Fan favourites such as Berlin (Pedro Alonso), Nairóbi (Alba Flores), and Moscow have already said their goodbyes (Paco Tous). These murders were unexpected and well-known in the unfolding events of the programme, implying that no one in this robbery is safe.
What we do know is that the following actors will appear in the last chapter of Money Heist:
Professor (Álvaro Morte)
Tokyo (Úrsula Corbero)
Denver (Jaime Lorente Lopez)
Rio (Miguel Herrán)
Helsinki (Darko Peric)
Raquel (Itziar Ituño)
Monica (Esther Acebo)
Palermo (Rodrigo de la Serna)
Marsella (Luka Peros)
Bogotá (Hovick Keuchkerian)
Alicia (Najwa Nimiri)
Tatiana (Diána Gomez)
Arturo Román (Enrique Arce)
Prieto (Juan Fernandéz)
Money Heist may be in its final season, but there are some fresh faces on the show. First, we have A-list Spanish actor Miguél angel Silvestre, who has previously appeared in Netflix originals including Sky Rojo, Narcos, and Sense 8. Even though we know very little about René (his character’s name), we are certain that he is Tokyo’s old sweetheart and will most likely be the gang’s saviour following the police raid on the Bank of Spain.
Patrick Criado, the youngest member of the group in Part 5, is another new cast member. In Money Heist’s last season, Patrick will portray Rafael, Berlin’s son. We don’t know how involved he is in the plot, but behind-the-scenes photos on the internet show Rafael in flashbacks with Berlin. Is it possible that he was part of the theft plan years ago? We’ll find out the answer to this question soon.
As an antagonist, one more new character will be introduced to the series. José Manuel Seda will play Commander Sagasta, a morally tainted military officer who isn’t hesitant to go to any length to secure the accomplishment of his missions. However, in this combat zone, he will not be an easy opponent for the robbers!
Expected Plotline of Money Heist Season 5
The Part 5 Vol. 1 trailer for Money Heist has given us a glimpse of what is to come. We find the Professor in peril right away since former inspector Alicia Sierra has discovered his underground hideaway. For the first time, the Professor has no way out, and he even warns the rest of the group that this may be the last time he can speak with them. Aside from that, the thieves have been imprisoned for almost 100 hours inside the Bank of Spain.
They now have the presence of Lisbon, which might prove to be a valuable ally in their quest to flee. “We’re up against the ropes, but we’re not going to end up in a morgue,” she exclaims in the teaser. However, there occurs a reversal. They will now confront an even more formidable foe when the army invades the bank, destroying their strategic strategy.
In an interview with Deadline, creator and showrunner Alex Pina said that this will be the most violent and severe turn of events in the series yet. During Part 5, he also said that the band would split up at some time.
Despite the announcement of the last season, the Money Heist world still has a lot of possibilities. According to Lex Pina’s interview with Oprah Magazine, all of the characters in the program have complicated personalities that would be intriguing to explore in a spinoff.
