Netflix Release Date: December 17, 2021

Although it’s customary for any program to move its characters into new storylines from year to year, the Witcher season 2 is going to drastically change the lives of a couple of its most notable characters on screen.

Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan, who portray Yennefer and Ciri, respectively, spoke to reporters about how drastically different the two ladies will be in the next chapter. Especially when compared to the seemingly unchanging main character, Geralt of Rivia.

Ciri, the exiled princess of Cintra, has been more visibly altered in The Witcher season 2 teaser as she begins to fulfil her destiny with Geralt. This was only hinted at earlier, and Allan has masterfully adapted to her new position. “Part of Ciri and Geralt’s journey this season also entails training to be a Witcher,” Hissrich says, applauding Allan’s portrayal.

“Before we started filming Season 2, Freya would email me videos of herself learning to swordfight. And the stunt team was blown away because she’s such a natural.”

When The Witcher season 2 premieres on Netflix on December 17, 2021, fans will be able to watch how Yennefer and Ciri have evolved. And ultimately see them meet and form their unique relationship.
