The Series is created and produced by Jess Calendar, Keith Calder, Daveed Diggs, and Rafael Casal. Blindspotting was initially released on 27th July 2018. The most beautiful fact about this Series is that childhood friends Rafael Casal and Daveed Diggs wrote the screenplay in 2000. But because of many hurdles, halts, restructuring, and many more problems, the filming started in June 2017.
The Story primarily revolves around Ashley, who is forced to move in with her mother and half-sister after all her belongings are seized after her husband Miles’ arrest in the drug-dealing and brutally assaulting a black man.
Sneak Peek into Blindspotting Season 1


Set in Oakland, California, Collin Hoskins (Daveed Diggs) is sentenced to imprisonment for three days and is struggling to get rid of his 3-day probation. Miles Turner (Rafael Casal), who appears as Collin’s buddy, is short-tempered, and Miles works for a moving company. One night, while waiting for the red light, Collins witnesses a white police official using destructive malignant force on a black suspect. Terrified by the incident, Collins starts to get nightmares and hallucinate about that incident.
On the other hand, Miles becomes hysterical by the gentrification of Oakland, which results in Miles losing everything, including his identity, home, and belongings. Consequently, Miles buys a gun from one of his pals amidst frequent disapproval of Collins. Miles behaves erratically, causing pain-in-ass for several people, including Collins’s ex-girlfriend Van (Janina Gavankar).
Van warns Collins that this erratic behaviour of Mikes could land him in trouble and result in the implosion of their friendship. Later that night, Miles’s gun comes into the hand of his son Sean accidentally, resulting in Ashley (Jasmine Cephas Jones) forcing both Collins and Miles to leave the house.

An agitated Miles goes to a party and lands up in trouble when he brutally assaults a black man and ends up threatening the Party-Attendees with his gun. Miles ends up fighting with the Black Man before Collins could do anything. In the end, Collins disregards and criticizes Miles’s behaviour and holds Miles responsible for the trouble they faced.
Collins ends his probation, but he is psychologically troubled, continues to get hallucinations, and sees nightmares of that night where he saw a white man choking and assaulting a black man. Meanwhile, Collins and Miles complete their moving job in the house, which is revealed to be the house of Officer Molina. Officer Molina is the same police officer who assaulted the black man that night, which Collins witnessed.
An anxious and furious Collins trespasses Officer Mollins’s garage and threatens him at gunpoint. Miles enters and is astonished to see Collins ranting a rap that he wrote to criticize the relationship between Black-Americans or African Americans, the Police Officials, and the gentrification of Oakland. Following the freestyle rap, he breaks several personal properties of Officer Mollins and ends up shooting him. Mollins is left furious.
After all these events, Collins and Miles amending their friendship and driving to their next workplace.
Blindspotting Season 2 Expected Release Date


The series was released on June 13, 2021, and happened to be the sequel of the eponymous comedy film Blindspotting. Season 1 streamed on July 13, 2021, and went off the air on August 8, 2021. The show is a compilation of 8 episodes, each with a 34-37 minute running time. The show delivers chorale comedy content and has diaphanous yet incredible humour and an in-depth emotion.
As of now, Starz hasn’t officially announced the renewal status or release date of Season 2, neither has it indicated any possibility of the return of Season 2. Meanwhile, Casal is positive about the launching of Season 2 as he leaves it all to the audience. The more positive reviews of the viewers more are the chances of the release of Season 2.
Speculations speak that Season 2 might end up dropping any time between October- December 2022 or maybe the first quarter of 2023. However, because the selection of cast, filming, production, editing, and VFX takes around 12 months, and COVID is the major obstacle, we should wait for another year. Expected Storyline of Second Edition of Blindspotting


As we all know, the entire Season 1 of Blindspotting revolved around Ashley trying to get along with Trish and Rainey. To bridge the emotional gap between them, they start by playing and indulging themselves in activities. While trying to close the emotional gap between them, Rainey and Trish convince Ashley to spend a night with Miles in the prison ground. It is also revealed that Sean learns about his father’s imprisonment and faces trauma and distress. Trish makes a deal with Carl that she would establish her own business with Carl.
Season 2, if renewed might revolve around Trish amending her ways and working hard to set her own business. Carl might seem disappointed with 20% commissioner. Ashley might end up distancing herself from Miles by working tremendously hard. At the same time, on the other hand, Sean might try to investigate the real reason behind his father’s arrest.
Who all would be Returning in the Second Edition of Blindspotting?


The series revolves around Ashley’s lead role, played by Jasmine Cephas Jones, who is forced to incarcerate her relationship with Miles, played by Rachael Casal. Trish, who Jaylen Barron plays, is expected to make a comeback.
Janelle, who is Ashley’s friend, played by Candace Nicholas-Lippman, is expected to return. In addition, Janelle’s potential love interest Earl, played by Benjamin Earl Turner, will also return. Atticus Woodward, who aces the role of 6-year-old Sean, the son of Ashley and Miles, will also return as Season 2 might show Sean investigating his father’s real reason for the arrest.
Apart from the primary characters, many characters are expected to return, such as Helen Hunt as Miles’ mother Rainey, Justin Chu Cary as Rob, April Absynth as Jacque, Margo Hall as Nancy, Andrew Chapelle as Scotty, and Lil Buck as Buck.
