1. All Marvel Movies
Hotstar offers a plethora of superhero movies that have gone on to become blockbuster smashes because of its connection with Disney Plus. The majority of Marvel’s filmography may be found here, including all of the Avengers films, Logan, Deadpool, and Deadpool 2, and a mob of others. However, if you’re planning a superhero movie marathon, you can now see most of the big-ticket Marvel films in one spot.
Nomadland is currently one of the greatest films available on Disney Plus Hotstar. At the 93rd Academy Awards, the film was awarded as best picture, best director, and best actress. The film stars Frances McDormand as a van-dwelling working woman who leaves her community when her husband travels across the United States. She not only learns fundamental survival and self-sufficiency skills on the road as she meets fellow nomads, but she also discovers herself in the process.
This movie doesn’t need an introduction. Who hasn’t seen the movie Avatar? The 2009 epic sci-fi saga from James Cameron is a classic and one of the best movies you can watch on Hotstar at any time. It depicts the narrative of what occurs when humans take over a habitable moon and put the local tribe’s survival in jeopardy. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s a visual delight that you should add to your watchlist.
Mulan is a live-action remake of the same-named Disney animated film from 1998. The story is based on a Chinese legend and tells of an adventurous young girl who disguises herself as a boy to fight in an imperial war in her father’s place. With her excellent skills, she manages to trick everyone and proves herself a capable fighter. On the other hand, the imperial army discovers her secret, putting her in a terrible situation.
5. The fault in our stars
If you’re seeking a romantic film to watch on Disney + Hotstar, The Fault In Our Stars could be the right choice. It’s emotional, but it’s also one of the well-received teen relationships of today. Augustus and Hazel, two teenagers who meet and fall in love at a cancer support group, are the film’s central characters. Their relationship takes them on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, but it ends in tragedy.
The beauty of Pixar Animation, Miguel (Anthony Gonzalez), a little kid, descends to the underworld during Mexico’s Day Of The Dead holiday to learn about his family’s past and reconnect with his ancestors in this Pixar treasure. This film always manages to strike the proper notes and moves me to tears. Miguel likes to sing and perform, but his family, particularly his grandmother, bans him from doing so and pushes him to join the family shoe-making business.
On the other hand, Miguel is hell-bent on accomplishing his ambition and flees his home, only to find himself in the spirit world, where he encounters every member of his family who has passed away. Coco is a story about family and how a boy brings a family’s disparate members together. Coco is a film about family and how a young kid brings a family’s misunderstood past and present together. An animated film with such much inventiveness deserves a particular place in the hearts of moviegoers, and it is one of the best films on the list.
7. Shape of water
This Guillermo Del Toro film, which won Best Picture at the 2018 Oscars, is a love story with some of the most remarkable principles and triumphs in its simplicity and sincere storytelling. The story of a lonely Janitor who falls in love with a scientific experiment, an aquatic creature held imprisoned and established a lovely connection with the creature. Michael Shannon, Octavia Spencer, and Doug Jones, the amphibious creature, star alongside Sally Hawkins as Elisa, the Janitor.
8. Jojo Rabit
Jojo Rabbit was ludicrous and emotional at the same time. Director Taika Waititi takes us to Germany during World War II and shows us how Jojo was brainwashed by Nazi propaganda even before he could understand what was evil and what was right in this narrative about love and innocence seen through the eyes of a 10-year-old child named Jojo. Jojo adored Hitler and thought himself to be surrounded by him at all times.
But, as the world around him becomes increasingly complex, Jojo discovers love and generosity and comes to terms with life even in the most challenging situations. Taika Waititi depicts a fascist society as ridiculous, making the film wildly entertaining while also leaving an indelible effect on anybody who sees it. The film also features Scarlett Johannson, Taika Waititi, and Sam Rockwell and is one of my favourite films of the year.
Zootopia, another animated film on this list, stands out for its inventiveness and multi-layered plot. A new drug threatens the city of Zootopia, and Judy Hopps, a rookie cop, must team up with part-time con artist Nick Wilde to preserve the city. Zootopia imagines what it would be like if animals lived in cities alongside humans, with their own set of rules and regulations. Zootopia is a brilliant, inventive, and thoroughly amusing film in which we are transported to a world where humans are an afterthought and animals are treated similarly to humans.
10. Dead Poets Society
Dead Poets Society is a coming-of-age drama about a group of students inspired by their new English teacher’s unconventional teaching methods. It has a high proficiency factor and is full of heartwarming scenes. Dead Poets Society is a light flick with some hard-hitting moments that are sure to impact you, thanks to its many quotable conversations and heartbreaking performances by Robin Williams and co. If you need another reason to see the film, it stars Robin Williams, who is as vibrant as ever, and if you haven’t already fallen in love with his legacy and performances, you will after seeing it.
