Michael Keaton and Stanley Tucci Go Head-to-Head in the Courtroom Drama ‘Worth’

Michael Keaton and Stanley Tucci

Courtroom dramas. Some of the best movies capture the intensity of a character and the story. Especially since mostly courtroom dramas deal with the most famous political conflicts of all time, sometimes, it gets interesting to see the contradictions between the case and how the process of law takes place. And now that we have two great actors working side to side on a really special project, this is one movie about making headlines all over. With Michael Keaton and Stanley Tucci in the main roles, Netflix is about to present you with the courtroom drama Worth.

The movie was recently also the selection of the Sundance Film Festival 2020.

The Storyline

This is based on the aftermath of the most unforgettable act of terrorism the world has ever witnessed. Set after 9/11, this movie is based on US Congress as to how they appointed a September 11th Victim Compensation Fund. In charge of that fund is attorney Kenneth Feinberg, played by none other than Michael Keaton! But as a man of the law, he starts to question the ethical side of this victim fund. He questions how something so tragic and devastating can put a value on the lives lost. With all this, Kenneth is caught with many airline problems, and how he plans to sue them for being hijacked and not being responsible enough to go through enough identification checks so that terrorists came on board the planes. He then sees how several airline lobbies look to settle on the case.

With all this happening, Kenneth sees that he will broker a deal with families that were victims of the horrifying tragedy. Now, when he locks himself to breaking the deal, he then proceeds to court. Over there, he locks horns with one particular individual, Charles Wolf, which Stanley Tucci plays in the film. Charles is a community organizer whose wife died in the towers, and because of this, he fights against Kenneth, showing him how no money can ever erase the tragedy that has taken place. Slowly through the entire battle of law, Kenneth starts to realize the value of human life and how no price can erase the events of the time.

As much as the fans have got to know about the story, we can only say that this movie will bring in a lot of shocking revelations. Not just dealing with terrorism, but the movie will also deal with bureaucracy and multinational corporations being selfish for their cause to gain monetary benefits from a public stunt. But in the end, the movie’s main motive is to highlight how several families suffered and have to bear with losses that no one else can even hope to imagine. Usually, many of these courtroom movies end in the act of the defense being resentful towards the outcome. But in this movie, the defense will become law down its arms and surrender to the helplessness of the victims and how they need all the support, they can get.
