Source- GoogleThough the release dates are not yet confirmed, We are excited to inform you that there will be a third part coming. The lead actor Omar Sy also confirmed the show’s renewal for a third party through a tweet, staying his excitement, along with the announcement Netflix made. The renewal of the third part has gotten the fans ready for more of Assane’s adventures.
What has Happened Yet?
The show premiered in January 2012 with the first five episodes. It received a lot of viewership because of its theme of mystery and drama. The first five episodes, released on Netflix, showed us how Assane Diop tried to get revenge on Hubert Pellegrini for his father’s death.
Hubert Pellegrini falsely framed his employee Babarkar Diop, Assane’s father, for stealing a valuable necklace from him. It causes Babarkar to commit suicide in prison. Assane plans to bring Pellegrini down and bring his truth out to the world. Unfortunately, he also steals the very necklace that was the reason for his father’s death. He plans the robbery following the styles of Arsène Lupin, a fictional thief from the book Arsène Lupin: Gentleman Burglar. The book was given to him by his father, which he goes on to give his son.
He follows the stories of Arsène Lupin to learn his ways of theft and robbery. A detective called Youssef realizes that Assane’s ways resemble the stories. Assane uncovers several aspects related to the year-old case. The first part ends with a cliffhanger of Pellegrini’s henchman Leonard, kidnapping Assane’s son Raoul from a festival he had taken him and Claire.
Part two, however, gives answers to our questions from part one but leaves behind some of its own. It begins with the kidnapping of Raoul, where it had ended previously. The show in the second part follows the same theme is followed in the first one, switching between the past and the present to understand how the past framed the current events. He plans more to rescue his son and catch Pellegrini.
Through a well-planned mission, Assane brings out all the truth behind Hubert Pellegrini and his corruption, murder other crimes he had escaped from. He gets arrested at the end of part two. Assane has now avenged his father’s death and got his and his father’s names cleared from the robberies and the murder of Leonard, who Hubert Pellegrini killed.
But the twist comes when Assane still has some other charges on him and has to escape from the police. The last episode of the second part ends with Assane saying an emotional and heartfelt goodbye to Claire and his son Raoul and running away from the police following him. The cliffhanger left the fans wondering where Assane was running and where we would see him in the next season.
What Mysteries is Part 3 Going to Solve?
Lupin will bring some more of Assane Diop’s plans in the third part of the mystery series. Though now he has taken revenge for his father from Pellegrini, he still has to get rid of the charges against him, and of course, there still might be some new problems awaiting Assane in Part three.
There are more of Arsene Lupin’s ways for Assane to follow. For all, we know Pellegrini might come back to cause more problems in Assane’s life. He could take the help of anyone from the police department like he did previously with Dumont. There could be more of his supporters or associates willing to help me get out of the situation. We know for sure that the third part will bring more conflicts and complications for Assane.
Along with Omar Sy, as Assane Diop in the lead role, we can expect Ludivine Sagnier as Claire, Assane’s ex-girlfriend, and Etan Simon as their son.
We can also expect to see Shirine Boutella as Lieutenant Sofia Belkacem with Soufiane Guerrab as Detective Youssef, who played a major role in both parts. We might also see Fargass Assandé, who plays Babarkar Diop, appearing in more flashbacks, along with young Assane.
And of course, Pellegrini family members, Juliette Pellegrini and Anne Pellegrini. Hubert Pellegrini might come back to create more obstacles for Assane. But we are almost sure Adame Niane, who played Leonard, Hubert’s henchman, won’t be coming back. So instead, we might see other minor characters coming back in part three.
The Release Dates
The show’s first two parts were filmed simultaneously, which got us the second part six months after the first part was released. The fans are expecting the show to come this year itself. There is also no confirmed news on the commencement of the production of the third party, which might be the cause for the delay in the release dates for the third party or even the announcement of the dates.
However, we can assume that it might come next year, that is 2022, considering that it is unusual for Netflix to release more than one season of a TV show in the same year. It is safe to expect the third part to come at the beginning of the year 2022. Netflix might announce the release dates soon, though the dates might not be soon enough themselves. The fans might have to wait longer than they waited for the second part.
