Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time was released back in 2003. The game became a massive success, and many consider it as one of the great video games of all time. After 17 years, Ubisoft is releasing a remastered remake of the game which is going to better than the original.

About the game – 

The game follows the unnamed Prince whose father sacks a Maharaj’s city at the instigation of its treacherous Vizier. The Prince obtains an artifact called the Dagger of Time during the attack, while his army captured an hourglass containing the Sands of Time. The Vizier tricks the Prince into releasing the Sands, which causes the city’s population to transform into monsters. The Prince works with Maharaja’s daughter Farah to rectify his mistake and return the Sands to the hourglass.

Gameplay And Improvements In The Remake –

The game is filled with innovative gameplay, a compelling storyline, and charismatic characters. The game is played from a third-person perspective.

The game’s remake has new enemy character models, new cinematic sequences as well as enhanced voices, sounds, animations, and soundtrack.

The developers have modernized the controls for the remake. Camera, controls, and combat have been completely rebuilt and updated for the modern generation consoles and computers. Players also have a choice to choose between the original or the modernized mapping.

Development of the game’s remake – 

Ubisoft’s Mumbai and Pune studios have worked on the Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time Remake. This is the first time that Ubisoft is remaking a game. The studio has likely taken inspiration from Capcom who has developed the popular Resident Evil series. Capcom remade 1998’s Resident Evil 2 in 2019 and 1999’s Resident Evil 3 in 2020.

The official trailer for the game’s remake was released on the official PlayStation YouTube channel on September 11th, 2020.

Which platforms will the game be released on? –

The game will get release date for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in January 2021. It has been confirmed that the game will be released for the PlayStation 5 although there is no release date for the PlayStation 5 platform yet. Also, there is no word on whether the game will be released for Nintendo Switch or the latest Xbox Series X and Series S. Nintendo is currently working on a 4K version of the Switch so the game could be made available for that version. Also, a version for the next-generation Xbox consoles is very likely being planned so Xbox users will have to wait for that. 

When is the game releasing?

The game will be releasing on January 21st, 2021. The game is already available for preorder. Customers who preorder the game will receive additional bonuses. Those who preorder the game for PlayStation 4 will get a free upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version, that is of course if they plan on buying the PlayStation 5.

Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time Remake is one of the most anticipated games of the year and is definitely expected to sell out quickly. It will also be interesting to see how the game has been remastered in this remake. It is definitely going to fun to play!
