The Boys Season 3 Release Date & All Updates

The Boys Amazon Prime Poster

Primarily based on the same name’s comic, The Boys is currently Amazon’s darkest web series. The show is a satire on the otherwise righteous and kind-hearted superheroes. The show captures the essence of the storyline and the dark side of the comic well. It does so while maintaining its depiction on screen sane and reliable. Upon its release, The Boys instantly became one of the favorite anti-heroes shows.

Here is everything to know about season three of the show, including the cast, release date, and plot.

When will The Boys season 3 release?

The show’s first season came out on July 26, 2019, with eight episodes released at once. The following season two came out on September 4, 2020. However, the show makers didn’t release all the episodes at once for the second season. Instead, The Boys released three episodes at once and the rest weekly, and the season ended on October 9, 2020. This resulted in The Boys receiving criticism from the fans, which the show creator Eric Kripke regarded as unfair on fans part.

In July 2020, the show’s executive producer Seth Rogen, at Comic-Con: At Home, stated that Eric Kripke and the rest of the team had started work on the third season. He went on to say that the shooting could probably begin in summer 2021, but that would depend upon the intensity of the coronavirus pandemic.

Who will reprise their roles, and who are the new faces?

Eric Kripke will return as the director for the third season. The season three cast will include Karl Urban (Billy Butcher), Jack Quaid (Hughie), Erin Moriarty (Starlight), and Antony Starr (Homelander). Along them are Chace Crawford (The Deep), Dominique McElligott (Queen Maeve), Laz Alonso (Mother’s Milk), Jessie T Usher (A-Train), Karen Fukuhara (Kimiko), Claudia Doumit as Victoria “Vic” Neuman, and Giancarlo Esposito (Stan Edgar) and more.

The third season of the show will bring the actors from Eric Kripke’s previous show, Supernatural (2005). Supernatural’s main lead Jensen Ackles will join the cast as Soldier Boy, supposedly a parody of Captain America. Moreover, The Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan is in talks to join the cast in a villainous role. Both Jensen Ackles and Jeffery Dean Morgan has previously worked together with Kripke in Supernatural. Fans have speculated that Aya Cash might return as Stormfront. However, Aya Cash reported that her contract with the show was for one season only.
