Disney took the 80s by storm with their production of Who Framed Roger Rabbit. It was a brilliant piece of film making. Director Robert Zemeckis fused animation and live-action in one movie. The events in the movie took place around Roger Rabbit. In a curious turn of events, Roger finds himself accused of a murder. The film was a massive commercial success of the year. The wish to make a sequel for the successful movie was high shortly after it was released. However, the film demanded a monumental effort from its crew. And ultimately, in 2000, Disney decided to drop the idea altogether. But fans were excited with the news of J.J Adams discussing plans for a sequel.
And in a swift turn of events, the film got a release date—Mark out February 18, 2022, on the calendar when the movie hits the theater. The news comes unexpectedly following earlier comments by Zemeckis. In an interview, he had explained, “The current corporate Disney culture has no interest in Roger, and they certainly don’t like Jessica at all.” That had all but eliminated the chances for the upcoming movie. However, the fact that now it is going to release will displease no one.

The movie is ready to return and this time with a new cast. Crispin Glover will star in the film alongside Julia Roberts. The two will be joined by Harrison Ford, Jason Isaacs, and Peter Dinklage. This is not the end of the long list of actors set to voice in the film.
With Kurt Russell, Chrissy Metz, and Finlay Wojtak also being a part of the film. Other cast members include Charles Fleischer, Kathleen Turner, and Lou Hirsch, among many others.

The movie has done a great job of keeping most of the script undercover. As a result, fans have a tiny clue on how the film is going to take shape. The sequel will be making much inspiration from the original movie. In which case, there is the chance of character from various universe appearing in the film.
The sequel will be based in Characterville once again. But this time with a new villain in sight Judge Doom’s son’s cousin. The events would take place decades after the murder of Acme. But with a new threat blooming, Roger, Daniel & Jessica will have to turn the tides.

Unfortunately, there is not one yet. This is not surprising, considering the movie is, however, to begin production. And with a release in 2022, do not expect one anytime soon.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit was a cinematic masterpiece. It was one of a kind movie during its release. However, given the considerable popularity of the genre in modern times, the sequel will have a hard time standing out. But expectations are high from the fans, and hopefully, the movie won’t fail them.
