Wonder Woman 1984 has experienced delays in release for over a year. The movie was to come out on December 13, 2019, initially. Then it preponed to November 1, 2019. It delaying to June 25, 2020, because the theatres are close during the period due to the coronavirus pandemic. As a result, it was moved further to August 14, 2020. But seeing the condition worsen, the makers decided to give the film release date of October 2, 2020. The recent decision finally moved the movie even further and giving it a Christmas release for fans to enjoy it in the festive season. The film will now ultimately release in theatres on December 23, 2020. The movie won’t have any other releases along with it, but it would come out around Warner Bros sci-fi thriller Dune.

What is the cast for the film?

Gal Gadot will reprise her role as Wonder Woman, aka Princess Diana. Meanwhile, Chris Pine will also return as Steve Trevor from the first film. Other members include Kristen Wiig as Barbara Ann Minerva, aka Cheetah, Pedro Pascal as Max Lord, Robin Wright as Antiope, and Connie Nielson as Hippolyte. Moreover, Natasha Rothwell, Ravi Patel, Gabriella Wilde, Kristoffer Polaha, and Amr Waked joined the cast in new roles. Director Patty Jenkins will also return to direct the sequel.

What is the plot for the upcoming movie?

It will be set in 1984 (as the name suggests), which means long before the Justice League’s events. It will show Diana’s next big adventure as she faces two big baddies: Media Businessman Max Lord and Friend turned Foe Barbara. The movie is set in the cold war background and will also feature Diana’s love interest Steve Trevor return mysteriously from the first film.

Warner Bros released an official trailer for the film in January of this year. The trailer was enough to excite the fans with the fantastic graphics and CGI of the movie. Later, Warner Bros released a second trailer for the film in September, which featured the Wonder Woman’s official comic book costume.
