Also, Watson is reincarnated in the show as a beautiful woman named Joan Watson. It has seven seasons, which started airing in September 2012 and has a 7.9 IMDb rating.

Lucifer

Created by Tom Kapinos, Lucifer is a show about the devil who has had enough of his dutiful life in hell. He comes down to earth and settles in LA, where he assists Chloe Decker, an LAPD detective, in solving criminal investigations. It is an ongoing show with six seasons and enjoys an 8.2 rating on IMDb. 

The White Collar

An American TV series created by Jeff Eastin. It revolves around a charming and charismatic con artist who cracks a deal with an FBI agent to share his expertise on white-collar crimes. This show is one of the underrated gems of detective crime dramas. It concluded in 2019 with five seasons and has an 8.2 rating on IMDb. 

Doctor Who

Another British television show from the BBC, created by Sydney Newman. It revolves around an alien adventurer named Doctor Who, exploring the universe in his time-traveling police box called the TARDIS. With 12 seasons since 2005, the show is still running and enjoys a good 8.6 rating on IMDb.

However, he seeks his revenge by finding his wife and daughter’s killer. An interesting procedural drama that grips viewer attention. 

Sherlock Holmes 

As the name suggests, it is another show based on Sir Arthur’s Sherlock Holmes stories. However, this one is a precursor to the other mentions on the list. It came out in 1984 and ran for six seasons. 

Luther 

Luther is one of the best British detective dramas which has been running since 2010. It follows a brilliant detective, John Luther, who has this unique skill to get into the culprit’s mind. However, his ethics and moral disciplines often get him into trouble with his superiors. The show has five seasons available to watch. 

Perception

Created by Kenneth Biller and Mike Sussman, the series aired on TNT from July 2012 to November 2015, it follows Dr. Daniel Pierce, a neuropsychiatrist who is enlisted by the FBI. The episodes begin with him taking lectures on criminal psychology, which finds its way into the case the episode deals with. 

Lie to Me 

Lie to Me is another show which deals with criminal psychology. Canceled only after three seasons, the revolves around The Lightman Group, who take assignments from local law enforcement and other bodies to help them solve investigations through applied psychology. 

Poirot 

This one is a forerunner of all detective drama based on Agatha Christie’s crime novel character Hercule Poirot. The show began in 1989 and went on to produce 13 seasons. It follows Poirot, a Belgian policeman who settles in London and becomes a private detective who soon becomes a society figure.
