American Gods Season 3 is officially happening. The series received a green signal for renewal in March 2019. And its production followed suit immediately in October 2019.

As the reports claim, Season 1 showrunners Bryan Fuller and Michael Green were allegedly fired after Season 1. So, Jesse Alexander took over the reins for season 2. Now, after his departure, Charles “Chic” Eglee is going to be the showrunner for the upcoming season. Chic credits for the screenplay of Dexter and The Shield. He is also the co-creator of Dark Angel alongside James Cameron.

As the show is adapted from Neil Gaiman’s novel series, he is thrilled to have Chic on board. Gaiman calls Chic the “best partner-in-crime”. Also adds, “I’m thrilled American Gods has been renewed for a third season, and even more thrilled that I’m getting to work on it with Chic Eglee.” They have “worked together” for weeks now to figure out the course of action. Gaiman also thanks “Fremantle, Starz and Amazon for having faith in the series. To Bryan, Michael and Jesse for bringing it this far”.

With this, Gaiman now looks forward to Chic to bring the show to full glory. He hopes that American Gods will renew for a fourth season sooner than later. Gaiman has a visionary approach to the future of American Gods. So, he wants to keep the “writers ‘room on and get the scripts written.”
