DC’s Titans is a gritty take on the Teen Titans comics and shows. The show aired back in 2018 and grasped a lot of attention primarily due to its dark and violent approach (and that famous f-word by Robin to Batman). Titans is one of the successful properties of DC, which is currently being aired on Netflix. It already has two seasons and is getting ready for the release of the third.
If you are a fan of the show, here are the latest details about the cast, plot, and speculation about what fans can expect to see.
When and where will it release?
Titans season one premiered on October 12, 2018, and it comprised of eleven episodes. The second season premiered on September 6, 2019, and had thirteen episodes.
The premiere of the third season was scheduled in 2020.
But due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the production came to a halt.
So many movies are put on indefinite hold in 2020, especially the Marvel Studios and DC Films schedule is all messed up with Black Widow, initially releasing in May, now releasing in November, and Wonder Woman 1984 eventually shifting from June 5 to December 25.
However, at DC FanDome that happened in August this year, the show makers officially confirmed that DC Titans season three would happen. It was also informed that the show would release in 2021, although no exact date was given. The show will be available on HBO Max, DC Universe, and Netflix.
Who will all reprise their roles, and are new faces?
The show main cast would reprise their roles, which includes
- Brenton Thwaites as Richard “Dick” Grayson / Robin / Nightwing
- Anna Diop as Koriand’r / Kory Anders / Starfire
- Teagan Croft as Rachel Roth
- Ryan Potter as Garfield “Gar” Logan

A few of the new characters that will join the cast were revealed at the DC FanDome event. These include Red Hood, Barbara Gordon, and Scarecrow. The inclusion of such a character could give even a more interesting twist to the plot.
The story so far, and what could fans expect to see?
The last season ended up wrapping up most of its arcs like the defeat of Death Stroke, halting of machinations of Cadmus Labs, and giving back brainwashed allies of Titans their mind control back. There was no stage-setting story for the future. However, the fans do seem to get a new baddie for the season ahead.
At the end of the season, the story reveals Kory’s sister Blackfire with her arrival on Earth.
Given her murderous nature, she has a strong potential to become the next supervillain. Meanwhile, Scarecrow will act as a consultant to the Gotham City Police Department (GCPD), and Barbara Gordon will be the new Commissioner of GCPD.
Depending upon his healing abilities and his great arc as a villain, Deathstroke may also come back to surprise the fans and increase their heart rates even more.
However, the creators have not hinted at any such thing.
