When Deadpool released in 2016, it was an unmitigated success. The superhero film starring Ryan Reynolds was a hit with the critics and fans. The film rediscovered the character of Deadpool and went on to collect over $782 million worldwide. The release of its sequel proved to be an even better blockbuster. It became the highest-grossing film in the X-men series and one of the best movies of that year.

The first two movies of the series have set the stage perfectly for Deadpool 3. The film is said to be already into planning, with a burning question being how would the R-rated franchise fit within the family-friendly MCU. While it remains a matter to discuss, one thing is sure that Deadpool 3 will have some large boots to fill.

Deadpool 3: Release Date

The film series has been a massive success. There is no doubt over the fact that fans love this sarcastic and outspoken superhero. And the head of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, has also acknowledged the success of the series and that there is no reason to stop yet.

However, fans were concerned after Marvel released the timeline of Phase Four movies in last year’s Comic-Con. One notable absentee from the list was the third installment of the film. And although it seems that Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld is not returning, there is no reason to lose heart. The absence of Deadpool in Phase Four only indicates that fans will have to wait another few years before the hero makes his MCU debut. The movie might still get slotted among the list of undisclosed Marvel films set for release in 2022 and 2023. However, it is still too early to know for sure when Deadpool 3 would be coming out.

Deadpool 3: Cast

There is no point in guessing who will return as the masked hero for the sequel. Ryan Reynolds has often, in the past, expressed his love for the character. And there is no way he is passing away that mantle so soon.

And the rest of the cast is not confirmed yet. Fans were left impressed by Josh Brolin and Zazie Beetz in the last film. They, along with Stefan Kapičić, Brianna Hildebrand, and fan-favorite Karan Soni, can still be returning. One character whose return is still in the dark is Vanessa, played by Morena Baccarin. At the end of the last movie, Wade traveled back in time to save her. But whether she returns for real remains to be seen.

Deadpool 3: Storyline

After watching the last two movies, a fair warning would be to expect the unexpected. The actor playing the superhero has already hinted about the franchise heading into a new direction. But where that might lead remains a big problem.

With Deadpool a Marvel property now, a crossover story cannot be ruled out. However, a more realistic approach for the franchise would be to dive deeper into the past of Cable. They are introducing the audience to his daughter Hope who is an important character in the comics. But with Brolin playing the role of Thanos in Infinity War and Endgame, that might get a bit tricky. The script has not been written yet. So there are myriad possibilities that the creators can choose to explore.

Deadpool 3: Trailer

A trailer for Deadpool 3 is a far cry right now. It is going to be a long wait before a trailer comes out.

Watching Deadpool 3 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a mouth-watering proposition for the fans. And given the recent departure of some of its iconic heroes, MCU needs someone like Deadpool. But when that happens remains to be seen. Nevertheless, fans will be hoping that wait would be as little as possible.
