Directed by Rian Johnson, the movie stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, and Emily Blunt in the lead roles. Joe is a Looper, a specialized assassin living in the year 2044 who works for a mob operating in the year 2074. The mob sends its targets back in the year 2044 to be taken care of by one of the loopers. Things take a U-turn when the mob wants to close the loop by sending future Joe to kill his counterpart back in time. Looper is a thrill ride with a heartfelt love story at the core of it.
A Beautiful Mind
Directed by Ron Howard and starring Russell Crowe, Ed Harris, Jennifer Connelly, is an autobiographical film that tells the story of Nobel Laureate John Nash. Pentagon recruits Nash during the cold war to decipher Russian codes. However, when he wants to quit it, his life is in danger. Nash becomes delusional and, after long years of therapy and medication, returns to teaching and receives the Nobel Prize in 1994.
Source Code, another Sci-fi thriller, starring Jake Gyllenhaal. Directed by Duncan Jones, Captain Colter Stevens finds himself in a body, not his own, where he is on a mission to catch a bomber on board a train. Colter goes through the same situation, again and again, gathering clues until he finds out who is behind the bombing. The movie keeps you on the toes through its fast-paced and perplexing narrative.
