Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness Release Date & What’s Storyline?

2016 marked the much-anticipated debut of Doctor Strange in MCU. The film also marked the debut of the Time Stone, which had a huge role to play in the Infinity Saga of the franchise. Directed by Scott Derrickson, the masterpiece failed to impress, not a single person.

With the Marvel Phase Four in front of us, it is only natural that Doctor Strange will again be integral. While we might not know anything about his involvement, yet our wait is not going to belong as the most famous Doctor is returning soon with his sequel.

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness: Release Date

Kevin Feige sent San Diego Comic-Con of last year berserk with the schedule of Marvel Phase Four. However, by now, it has become clear to the world that following the current global crisis, Marvel won’t be able to stick to their original plan.

In the meantime, the sequel of the 2016 film had to deal with a series of setbacks of its own. The project initially seemed to be dead in the waters following Derrickson’s exit from the project over creative differences with the producers.

That saw the film to be handed over to Sam Raimi. Even then, the release date of the film kept bouncing from one date to the next until it finally rested on March 25, 2022. With actor Benedict Cumberbatch confirming filming expected to begin from later this year.

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness: Cast

The cast for the sequel is still to be confirmed. One face that you can expect to see is that of Benedict Cumberbatch. With his namesake, Benedict Wong also expected to join him in the cast list. One major surprise name that has surfaced is Elizabeth Olsen joining the sequel. With another expected name being that of Chiwetel Ejiofor joining the force.

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness: Plot

Given the change of charge that the film saw, a script for the film is still under works. But as we were told in the Comic-Con of 2019, this film would be the first horror flick in the MCU. However, the movie is still going to carry a PG-13 rating, meaning the humor of the first film is still going to be around.

The movie might see Doctor Strange continue his research of the Time Stone. But as promised by Mordo in the last film, he is going to face some obstacles. The sequel will also likely tie-up with the stories of two separate Disney+ series- Wanda Vision and Loki.
