Knightfall is a historical fiction recollecting the times of knights Templar facing their share of hills and valleys through their journey orchestrated by King Philip IV of France on October 13, 1307. The show is created by Don Handfield and Richard Rayner. The series made its debut on December 6, 2017. Unfortunately, on May 2020, the series was declared to be cancelled after a release of two seasons.

The series saw its downfall from the second season itself with 50% decrease in viewership for season 2. This or the COVID-19 attack might have been the reason behind such harsh decisions.

Read on the article to know more about the assumed theories around season 3.
Even though we’ve received the announcements regarding the cancellation, there is still hope for the creators to pick the show from where they left and renew it again.

When and if season 3 gets renewed, we can most certainly expect the following casts to reappear.
Tom Cullen as Landry, Simon Merrells as Tancrede, Ed Stoppard as King Philip, Tom Forbes as Prince Louise, Julian Ovenden as William De Nogaret, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina as Adelina and Pádraic Delaney as Gawain. We also expect to see Mark Hamill who recently joined the series in season 2.
The series follows the plot of a fictional Templar leader Landry du Lauzon. He is initially heartbroken by the failure of Templars in the Holy Land but gains confidence and hope once again when he hears about the resurfacing of the holy grail.

Season three can focus on the pursuit of Pope Clement at the most. The same teaser was also leaked by the lead actor Tom Cullen who commented that Templars would possibly want to take revenge on him as they feel betrayed by his actions.
It is to see whether the following assumptions work toward achievement or not. Season three of Knightfall seems like a far fetched dream.
