Drifters Season 2 Release Date, Voice Artists And Everything

One of the few fantasy anime, Drifters, is a television series based on the popular manga of the same name written and illustrated by Kouta Hirano. The first season of the show premiered on October 7, 2016, to December 23, 2016.

Now, it has been almost four years since the release, and fans are eagerly waiting for the second season to arrive. The discussions related to Drifters Season 2 have been a part of numerous anime fan forums online and Drifters season 2 seems to have quite the fan following. It will be exciting to see how the fans receive Drifters Season 2 after so long.

The 12-episode action-packed anime was directed by Kenichi Suzuki, produced by NBC Universal Entertainment Japan. The show featured character designs by Ryoji Nakamori, and Hideyuki Kurata and Yosuke Kuroda wrote the screenplay.

Drifters Season 2: Release Date and Voice Cast Details

While we do have a confirmation for a second season, there has been no official release date. The last episode of season one had a new message for their fans regarding season two. It read, ‘To be continued second season. See you again. Tokyo 20XX. Sayonara’.

Season two is confirmed, but 20XX can mean anything. We can have the second season by this year (realistically, I don’t think so), or we can have one in two years. Who knows! We would say we can see Season 2 sometime in 2022.

The show is Japanese, so the voice cast was mainly Japanese. But, if you prefer the show to be in English, the English dub version can be found on Hulu, Amazon Prime, and Funimation. After the first season, bonus episodes were also released, which could be found on the above streaming devices too.

Drifters Season 2: Plot Details and Trailer

The show follows historical events of the Battle of Sekigahara in which a war hero Shimazu Toyohisa and other historical figures are summoned to another world. All of these warriors have been made a part of a group called ‘Drifters.’

Together, they have to support and lend their skills and knowledge to the other magicians (like elves, dwarves, and hobbits) and native humans of that world to help save them from the enemy, know as the ‘Ends.’ The story is set in the 1600s.

There has been no announcement regarding the second season, so a trailer is entirely off the cards. Especially now that the pandemic situation is raging, we cannot expect new shows to release trailers or teasers.
