Overlord is a Japanese anime series, directed by Naoyuki Itō. The series made its debut in 2015 and is based on a light novel by Kugane Maruyama.
The series takes place in the 22nd century, where an advanced gaming interface has been developed. The greatest among all other games were YGGDRASIL. However, after a stint of 12 years, the game’s server prepares to shut down. But one of its characters remains stuck within it.
The light novel was a sensational hit in Japan. That inspired the creators to spurn an anime series out of it. With the show preparing for its fourth season, it is fair to say that it has been a success.
Overlord Season 4: When is it Releasing?
The creators of the show have not divulged many details about Season 4. The show has renewed for a fourth season after the success of Season 3. That aired in 2019, so we expect a gap of eighteen months before the next season.
Production for Season 4 was firmly underway. The series was pushing for a late 2020 release before the pandemic struck. The unwanted interruption has now forced producers to delay that date. It seems unlikely for the series to return anytime before 2021.
Overlord Season 4: What are the Plot Details?
The show is going to rely on the source material for Season 4 as well. This is going to be a big season for our protagonist Aniz. Although he has had a meteoric rise to power, his authority is under threat. He needs to prove his abilities to consolidate his powers. But that is easier said than done.
The fourth season is going to show the strength required to govern Sorcerer Kingdom. It is clear that the road ahead is full of thorns for Aniz. So how well will he fare?
Overlord Season 4: Who are appearing?
There seems to be very little change in regards to the primary cast. Familiar voices of Satoshi Hino and Yumi Hara will return again. They will be joined by Manami Numakura, Masayuki Katou, and Sumire Uesaka.
