The story of Lord of the Rings is a sequel referred from Tolkien’s fantasy novel, which came in 1937, named “The Hobbit,” but eventually developed into a much larger work.

It was considered to be 1 of the best-selling novels ever by selling over 150 million in total.

The story in the novel focuses mainly on an antagonist named “the Dark Lord Sauron,” who had at an earlier age created the One Ring to rule the other Rings of Power as the ultimate weapon and can be used to conquer and rule all of Middle-earth.

The work in the novel was focused on Tolkien in the first volume. His publisher later dismissed the other volume, which means the second volume was more focused on The Silmarillion, but this idea. Lord of the Rings series was published in a total of three, which released between 29th of July from 1954 to 20th of October in 1955. Three volumes for the series were titled The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King.

Lord Of The Rings: Release Date

As for now, there’s no official sign confirmation been revealed for the release date.

Amazon began the production of the show two years before, which means that it might complete its production in or by November of 2019, at least. A recent update from Amazon was given by the Head of Amazon Studios Jennifer Salke that.

“We are excited about upcoming TV series of “The Lord of the Rings.” Despite all the chatter about it, the deal just closed a month ago.” Salke added: “It will be in production in two years, but 2021 is the hope for its final release.”

Amazon has already renewed the show for a second season as well.

After a long time, Amazon revealed that who is going to appear in the Lord of the Rings series.

The cast members will include Joseph Mawle, who is also well known for playing as Benjen Stark on HBO’s Game of Thrones, will be coming in the show as the main character. Even the other cast members are announced Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Nazanin Boniadi, Tom Budge, Morfydd Clark, Ema Horvath, Ismael Cordova, and Markella Kavenagh.

Few of the cast members who were previously announced include Will Poulter and Markella Kavenagh and only Maxim Baldry.

Lord Of The Rings: Plot

As mentioned above, the series will explore more about times of millennia before the years of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Fellowship of the Ring. Still, it will not be related to events of The Silmarillion and the Third Age.

It is expected to come with at least five seasons. The plot of the 1 season will cover events of the Second Age. The first season might come up with 20 episodes in total.

Lord Of The Rings: How The Series Will Differ From The Movies

It won’t be too early to discuss what the TV series might look like by comparing it to the movie franchise, especially now that it seems Warner Bros. As like the movies, The Tolkien Estate are getting along again.

All the parties might be getting along again in The Lord of the Rings trilogy to be adapted into a TV series, and maybe this time around Christopher Tolkien will be happier with the final product.
