Overlord Season 4 Release Date And What Is Storyline?

Overlord is a Japanese anime adaptation based on the light novel series written by Kugane Maruyama and illustrated by so-bin. The anime series was adapted by the animation studio Madhouse and currently has a total of 3 seasons with 13 episodes each, where Season 1 first premiered in 2015. The second season aired in the first half of 2018 and the third season came out in the latter half of 2018.

So it has been a while since the last season dropped and we can’t help but wonder what the fate of the series is. If you’re also curious, head down below to learn everything we know about air date to the expected storyline!

Overlord Season 4: When Will it Air?

Overlord’s scriptwriter Yukie Sugawara actually revealed and talked about the possibility of a fourth season during AnimagiC 2019 in Germany and stated that it was ‘extremely likely’ to be produced.

However, despite that brief good news, Overlord has not been officially renewed by the creators or the studio, so its fate still hangs cautiously. Without an official confirmation, fans cannot expect Season 4 to arrive this year in 2020. Even a 2021 release seems unlikely unless the makers don’t announce its renewal during the late months of 2020.

Storyline: What Will Happen in Overlord Season 4?

By the end of Season 3, we saw that Ainz had found the Sorcerer Kingdom with Albedo and the other NPCs pledging alliance to him. Ainz, however, will have difficulty with maintaining this new-found huge Kingdom and that’s where Albedo steps in, as his right hand to strengthen the Kingdom’s authority.

Overlord Season 4 will probably see Albedo training the Elder Liches as public officials of the Sorcerer Kingdom. Not only this, but she will also become more involved with political affairs in Season 4 if it is based on the events of Volume 10 of the light novel.

Cast: Who Will Voice the Characters?

The cast members who are likely to return for Season 4 include Yumi Hara, Satoshi Hino, Masayuki Katou, Manami Numakura and Sumire Uesaka.
