Outlander Season 6 has been confirmed by Starz and fans of the series are brimming with excitement and can’t wait to see what’s in store for the future of the characters! Here’s everything we know so far about the series from its expected release date to cast to the plotline.
Outlander Season 6: When Will it Air?
As far back as 2018, Starz had given the order for a double renewal if the very popular series Outlander even before Season 5 came out. Season 5 was originally set to air in late 2019 but did not manifest until February 2020. So fans are somewhat concerned that there may be similar delays for Season 6.
With no exact release date given, fans previously thought Season 6 might air by 2021. However, it may take even longer due to the pandemic and productions being on halt across the globe.
Cast Details: Who Will be in it?
There is great news for avid fans of the series as it’s been confirmed that the two major cast members of Outlander are coming back for Season 6. This means there will be much more of Sam Heughan playing the Scottish heartthrob Jamie Fraser. Caitriona Balfe will also be back to play Jamie’s wife Claire Fraser as the duo will definitely have more challenges coming their way in the upcoming season.
While we don’t have confirmation on the other cast members, fans do expect Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin to return to reprise their roles as Fraser’s daughter Brianna Randall Fraser and her husband, Roger Wakefield.
We will bring you more updates on the series as and when they come out so stay tuned!
What does Will happen in Outlander Season 6?
No plot details have been shared with the public, but it’s possible Season 6 will be based on the events of Diana Gabaldon’s sixth book, ‘A Breath of Snow and Ashes’. The novel centres on what happens after Season 5, which follows Jamie as he gets drawn into the American Revolution.
This will follow after the events of Book 5 when the political unrest increased as the Frasers tried to live a peaceful life in North Carolina.
