Here is everything we know about the future of the renowned K-Drama so far:

About Guardian: The Lonely and Great God:

The show first aired in South Korea on 2nd December 2016. The last episode of Goblin was released on 21st January 2017. Guardian is written by popular drama writer Kim-Eun-Sook who has previously written shows such as Descendants of the Sun, The Heirs, and Secret Garden. Lee Eung-bok, Kwon Hyuk-chan, and Yoon Jong-ho are the directors of the show.

What is the show about?

Goblin revolves around the story of Kim Shin (the Goblin), a cursed immortal entity that has been living for 939 years. Kim was originally a military general during the Goryeo era where he was framed as a traitor and killed. After his death, the almighty punished Kim Shin with immortality. The curse could be only broken by the bride of the Goblin who will extract the sword from goblin’s chest and set him free.

The show stars Gong Yoo as Kim Shin, Kim Go-Eun as Ji Eun-Tak, Lee Dong-Wook as Grim Reaper, Yoo in-Na as Sunny, and Yook Sin-Jae as Yoo Deok-Hwa.

About Guardian season two:

Since the show release in 2016, a second is long due. Gong Yoo, who plays the Goblin, said in an interview that he is hopeful about another season saying “Your ‘Guardian’ days are not over yet. I thought the drama was all finished. I’m very disconcerted.”

However, after that interview, it was announced that the show won’t be returning for another season. Yoon tweeted in 2017 saying “Sad to say there will be no Season 2 for (Goblin) to happen. Some stories are always better to end as it is.”

There go our hopes for another season. Why not rewatch series on DramaFever and get over the sadness?
