Violet Evergarden is a Japanese light coming of age series that follows the tale of Violet, an emotionally detached soldier who received prosthetic arms after a combat injury who settles into life post-war as a ghostwriter while searching for the meaning behind her former commander’s final words to her.
The show debuted on Netflix in 2018 and since then has had a devoted fan following.
Anime lovers Unite!
After a long pause (having claimed that the show had aired its final episode in April of 2018), the series has been renewed for a second season after winning an award in the category of Best Animation’ in the 2019 Crunchyroll Anime Awards. And fans couldn’t be happier!
The developer team has announced that the season would be available to watch by mid-2020. However, owing to the unexpected pandemic, it’s starting to seem like the release might be pushed to the latter half of 2020, or maybe even early 2021.
The creators did not intend to make a second season. However, popular demand led to the making of a film of the same name that was released in 2019 to meet the needs of the audience of a second season. The demands continued, however, and now we’re finally getting a second season. And we’re so thankful!
Gracing us with their talent once again, we will see Yui Ishikawa Erika Harlecher, Claudia Hodgins, and Gilbert Bougainvillea, who we saw in season one. There’s a chance that we will get to see a few new faces too, but this hasn’t been confirmed.
The art of Anime!
We keep getting increasingly anxious and impatient, understandably. But the stellar work of the art of anime takes tons of time, patience, and effort that makes the wait so completely worth it.
