About The Politician:

The Politician is a comedy-drama created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuck and Ian Brennan. The show’s first season released on Netflix in 2019, followed by the second season in June 2020.

The show revolves around Payton Hobart, a high school student with an ambition to become the President of the United States. We follow Payton’s life in Saint Sebastian High School where he runs for the President of the student body. In season two, Payton is now studying in New York University and decides to run for New York State Senate against the majority leader Dede Standish.

There has been no official announcement from either Netflix or the creators about the renewal as of yet. However, Ryan Murphy has discussed the possibility of another season. He commented during an interview, “I would like to do, and I think all of us involved in it would probably like to do three seasons total”.

Yet the third season is likely to take years to be made. Firstly due to the on-going lockdown owing to the pandemic and secondly, Murphy has stated that he wants Ben Platt, who plays Payton on the show to get older for the next season.

If the third season serves as the finale, we will definitely see Payton aiming for the Presidential elections. The season will also delve more into the life of Georgina Hobart, Payton’s mother who becomes the President in season two.
