Johnny Depp starring Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean fantasy film series is a huge hit amongst the audience and the critics alike. The film series has five parts till now. Having in mind the reviews, the awards and the box-office collection, there is no doubt that we need more of the series. It looks like our wishes are coming true as Pirates of the Caribbean is in the works. YES! We are anticipating another chapter.

“We’re working on a draft right now, and hopefully we’ll get it shortly and give it to Disney, and hopefully they’ll like it,” said producer Jerry Bruckheimer. “We don’t know. We’ve been working on it for a little bit.” (via Collider)

How much ever we want to believe that the movie is confirmed and coming, in reality, we don’t have any solid word on the release.

CAST AND PLOT FOR PocT 6

Johnny Depp has been Jack Sparrow, the face of the Pirates of the Caribbean films, ever since the first part came out. But, unfortunately, the future of him as the pirate seems quite blurry.

When asked about Depp’s role, Bruckheimer said: “The one we’re developing right now, we’re not sure quite what Johnny’s role is going to be.” “So, we’re going to have to see.”

Rumours suggest that Disney wants a female-centric movie, and the character of Redd is to replace Jack Sparrow.

In May 2020, there were reports that the studio was considering Karen Gillan for the female lead. During the same month, Bruckheimer commented that the first draft of the screenplay for the sixth film would soon be finished.

After Deadpool co-writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick dropped out of the project in 2019, Disney chose Chernobyl writers Craig Mazin and Ted Elliott to create the script instead.

As of now, there is no further official input.

Since Depp’s return or role is uncertain, we don’t know what the next chapter holds for us. Without Jack Sparrow, it wouldn’t really feel like a Pirates of the Caribbean movie. But, the idea of a new theme and a female-driven pirate story is still tremendously exciting.
