Green Lantern first came out nine years ago. It was unfortunately, one of the few superhero movies that didn’t have a pleasurable outcome at all. The high budget was regretted both by the actors and producers equally.
Ryan Reynolds and Taika Waititi even expressed their sorrow and wished they had done something better. A few years later, it was announced that DC’s superhero was being given another opportunity to prove himself.
Green Lantern Corps was set for release on July 19 this year, but there are no updates of any kind, and the movie has been in production for almost a decade now. Fans are eager to know what’s happening and why it is taking so much time.
The movie’s script is being written Geoff Johns and apparently is still not finished. John has become skeptical of the investment, especially after what happened the first time. The film is still being worked on, obviously, but there is a high amount of anticipation with everyone involved making it a slow process.
WB is keen on getting things right this time and will not let anything stop this movie from being a hit even if it takes more time than expected.
We’ll probably be seeing Michelle Rodriguez as Jessica Cruz, the Fast and Furious celebrity. Other than this, there is no information about the possible cast at all.
It’s possible that the movie will revolve around a group of universal defenders saving the earth (named Green Lantern 30), suggesting from the name Green Lantern Corps. This will be a different set of Green Lantern from across the world.
The film is taking a very different approach this time, and it might just be the next big thing ( that is whenever it comes).
