‘Alexa & Katie’ is an American sitcom available on Netflix. Heather Wortham is the creator while Matthew Carlson resides at the helm. The show follows Alexa and Katie after they start their freshman year of high school.

A teen drama, revolving around the friendship Alexa and Katie, is elevated in tension when it is found that Alexa has cancer. Chemotherapy proves hard to hide, but they do so with a wig, albeit for a while. A rebellious Alexa despises the sympathy her life-threatening disease attracts while the quirky Katie is plagued by the thought of losing her best friend. The girls navigate the deep waters of their adolescence on a boat built on a strong friendship, relentless in their rowing yet wary of the shark of cancer lurking around in the waters.
Paris Berelc plays the role of Alexa while Katie is played by Isabel May. Jolie Jenkins plays Katie’s divorced, single mother, Jennifer. Emery Kelly as Alexa’s older brother Lucas. Eddie Shin as Alexa’s father Dave, and Tiffani Thiessen as Alexa and Lucas’ mother Lori, are the others. Finn Carr plays Katie’s younger brother Jack.
The shows play a host to many recurring cast members. A slew of guest stars appears too.
Alexa and Katie Season 3 premiered on Netflix for eight episodes on December 30, 2019. However, reports say that Netflix commissioned it for 16 episodes which means it wouldn’t be wrong to expect the second instalment of 8 episodes marketed as season 4 to complete the quota. Unless the ongoing pandemic causes any delay, the trailer for the latest season should be out soon and the show by June 2020.
Why Are Fans Worried About The Future?
The show deals with a teen fighting cancer and her strong bond with her best mate. Along with the myriad stops and turns that adolescence provides, the show has worked its way into the heart of viewers. The leads do quite a good job. And as of now, the only thing fans should worry about is the various twists and turns the life of Alexa and Katie would take further in the series.
