An existential drama, Unorthodox, is based on the autobiographical novel by Deborah Feldman. The German show is half Yiddish English and was shit in Berlin. The miniseries is created by Anna Winger and directed by ‘Deutschland 83’ and ‘Deutschland 86’ star Maria Schrader. The limited series is going to be released on March 26, 2020.

What Wil the do Plot Entail?

The story sees a young, overly orthodox Jewish woman living in New York, and she flees from an arranged marriage and her religious community to Berlin in search of a new life. Along with Winger, Alexa Karolinska is the creator of the series.

The young protagonist Etsy wants a transformation from the strict, bland life that she leads in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. She travels to Berlin, escaping the practices of her Hasidic Community and the need to find herself. But, of course, whilst exploring herself, her past catches up. Maria Schrader said:

Who Be Will in the Series?

The Cast of the limited series comprises of Israeli actor Shira Haas, who will play the lead protagonist. The Cast also includes other Israeli actors such as Amit Rahav and Jeff Wilbusch.

The memoir – based series is produced by Winger’s Studio Airlift and Henning Kamm for Real Film Berlin.

Netflix International Originals’ director Rachel Eggebeen commented on the production of the series:

“It is an approach to touch the hearts of a global audience with a very specific and local story. It is amazing to see how much love for detail and authenticity is going into this unique project.”

An official teaser and trailer have already been released. The series will hit Netflix on March 26, 2020. Since the series is simplistic and focuses on searching and nurturing self-identity, there are no fan theories regarding the series.
