His Dark Materials is a series of dystopian tv shows developed on Philip Pullman’s book series of the same name. The first series of eight stories debuted on BBC One in the UK on 3 November 2019.
The plot starts in an alternative universe where all human beings have animal friends named daemons, who are human spirit embodiments. The story explores the life of a teenage girl called Lyra, who is an orphan in Jordan College, Oxford. After the success of the first season, it is obvious the series will come back for another season. So, without further ado, let’s get right into the details.
His Dark Materials Season 2 Release Date & Cast
As we knew, it was going to be releasing in November 2020. But due to the global pandemic, Coronavirus, the release may get a bit delayed.
Nothing is a hundred per cent sure right now, but we feel all the main characters will undoubtedly return. Like Logan’s Dafne Keen as the feisty heroine Lyra Belacqua, X-Men member James McAvoy as Lord Asriel, Luther’s Ruth Wilson as the frightening Mrs Coulter, Lin Manuel-Miranda as the Lee Scoresby aeronaut and outsider Amir Wilson as the current BFF Will Parry.
There are just some changes to the team such as John Parry joining in the upcoming season. In Sherlock Holmes, he portrays Andrew Gordon. For season 2 he will be a big part.
What will happen? What to expect?
The plot for His Dark Materials season 2 is expected to adopt the second book from the series that Discreet Knife. Lyra and May appear in some other dimension, in a location named Citagazze, where they find a planet without parents or daemons, and where a hidden knife is being held in the Tower of Heaven.
The book switches between the realm of Will and different ones as the two kids begin to trust each other. But it would be wrong to state that we won’t see any kind of changes as the writer’s team will always bring along newer elements.
