The famous video game Mortal Kombat is now coming back for its lovers. This time, it’ll hit the theatres. In 1997, the movie came out as Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. The film killed it at the box office. Sadly, it could not excite the critics. In 2021, Warner Bros. will get a different version for the viewers.

The Mortal Kombat movie will release on January 15 in 2021. Initially, the release date for the film was March 5. However, it looks like Warner Bros. decided to move it up by some weeks.

Despite the production on Mortal Kombat wrapped up in December last year, presently, there is currently no trailer for the film. Fortunately, screenwriter Greg Russo posted a photo from the film’s set on his Twitter account (@WriterRusso). So there’s that one look that the fans get to see.

Mortal Kombat Cast: Who will be there?

The film Mortal Kombat will be a large ensemble with famous actors from other genre media. The film confirmed some of its cast members. Ludi Lin will star as Liu Kang. Mechad Brooks will play the role of Jax, an American Special Forces soldier. Jessica McNamee will feature as Sonya Blade against Josh Lawson as Kano.

Sonya is a character that leads the Outer World International agency and has grudges with Kano, who is the Black Dragons’ leader. Tadanobu Asano will be there as Raiden and Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion.
We also have Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero, alongside Chin Han as Shang Tsung and Sisi Stringer as Mileena.
Other cast members include Max Huang as Kung Lao with Lewis Tan. Lewis Tan’s role is yet unknown.

The Director of the Mortal Kombat movie is Simon McQuoid. He is a first-time director and a commercial filmmaker who has directed feature film-quality ads for PlayStation, HP, H&R Block, Nissan, Duracell/Star Wars, the Call of Duty and Halo video games and Netflix.
