In 1998, brothers Sam & Dan Houser founded the Rockstar Games. Dan Houser was the co-founder and the lead writer for the game series. He also worked as a voice actor on some of the company’s projects. After 22 years of minding the store, Dan Houser is now departing the company. Being one of the leading creative forces, the public is curious to see the form Rockstar’s next games will take.
Take-Two, which is a parent company, revealed the news of Houser’s departure. The company did not announce Mr Houser’s replacement. Take-Two’s stock fell 5% after the announcement on Dan’s departure. However, Sam Houser will continue at the company as president.

Houserwho has been a writer, producer and voice actor at Rockstar. He led its Games to the top in the industry. Franchises like GTA and Red Dead were the ones that became some of the biggest sellers in history. Even after crossing 7 years, GTA 5 still features in monthly best-selling lists.
Houser’s departure leaves the Rockstar Games company in an intriguing situation. The company is on the verge of releasing of the next-gen consoles with the PS5 & Xbox Series X launches. At this crucial point of time, there’s a high level of excitement as to what will GTA 6 do with the new hardware. While Houser’s decision to leave might not affect the gamers for some time but his departing influence leaves a huge void behind.
What will be the future for Rockstar Games?
Dan was the one who oversaw the creative aspects of the Grand Theft Auto series. Dan was not only a manager at Rockstar but also a writer and producer. He was a significant part of the writing team for Red Dead Redemption 2. His writing credits also include Bully, Red Dead Redemption, and Max Payne 3.
Take-Two is working on more content for Red Dead Online and GTA Online. There’s a high chance for future games in the works. Besides, if GTA 6 is going to ship, it definitely won’t be under Dan Houser.
