And the legacy continues with the latest adaptation of this tale old as time. Sony is ready to hit us with that nostalgia and the realisation that we are growing up.

But what is different about this adaptation? Well, this is going to be a musical comedy from the mind of James Corden.

Camilla Cabello will be marking her acting debut with this movie as Cinderella herself. And that automatically means she will also be part of recording the songs.

The Hollywood Reporter claims that Peirce Brosnan (former James Bond and star of Mamma Mia!) is the King. Deadline states that Nicholas Galitzine is to play Prince Robert, aka, Prince Charming. Idina Menzel will be of Cinderella’s step-mother, Evelyn.

But best of all, and the most accurate of all, Billy Porter confirmed his casting as Fairy Godmother. YES, THAT IS RIGHT!

The plot, same or are there any changes?

The story of Cinderella starts sad but ends happily. We laugh, we cry.

Unfortunately, Cinderella goes through the wrath of her stepmother and stepsisters. And  Sony’s adaptation will be adding humour and music to this tale.

Sony is reimaging the traditional tale. The one in which our heroine is an ambitious young woman with dreams more prominent than the world allows. James Corden, the one credited with the original idea, is to produce with Leo Pearlman, his partner at Fulwell 73.

A trailer?

Unfortunately, not yet. But with the release just mere days away, it shall drop soon.
