The fourth instalment of Peter Morgans’ royal epic will have Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II while we head into the Margaret Thatcher years.
In season 3 of this Netflix special, we saw the story from 1964 to 1977. The Crown is now set for its season 4, and we are here to tell you everything about it.
The Crown Season 4 Cast
Although most of the cast was switched at the beginning of season 3, Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II, Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip, Josh O’Connor as Prince Charles, Erin Doherty as Princess Anne, and Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret.
The Crown Season 4 Release Date
The official announcement hasn’t yet been made by Netflix or any celebrity-related to the show.
We can’t predict a sharp date as there was a two-year gap between the second and the third season.
The show would likely be aired in late 2020.
The Crown Season 4 Plot
The fourth season will cover the years 1977 till 1990, though nothing has been confirmed by the creator of the show, Peter Morgan.
Season 4 would cover many major events like the Queen and Margaret Thatcher’s disagreements over Apartheid in South Africa, the 1984-85 miners’ strike and the 1982 Falklands War.
It would also cover the 1981 incident where sic shots were fired at the Queen during the Trooping of the Colour and also many other incidents during the period.

“I have always been a fan of the Queen. I think as a human being she is marvelous and amazing. She is like a book and my job is to do justice to the part. The more I researched for this part, the more I started respecting her. She has gone through so much. It is really amazing. “I have become more of a fan… But it’s harder to play the character if they are still around. It’s hard to play a person the whole globe recognizes,” Colman said in an interview.
