The Alienist Season 2 Release Date, Cast, Plot And More

The Alienist was confirmed to give us a second season on August 16, 2018, by US network TNT. But then everyone was tightly-lipped about the production and didn’t let the cat out of the bag.

The release date of season 2:

The first season was released in America. The episodes were released weekly before it came to Netflix in April given that streaming service provided the international distribution rights.

For the second season, the release date hasn’t been revealed yet. TNT was to begin filming on the series sometime by this week with a release date of 2020. So, stick around!

The Cast of season 2:

Den of Geek reveals that the main cast of characters includes;  Daniel Brühl, Luke Evans, and Dakota Fanning. They will be back for their roles as Dr Laszlo Kreizler, John Schuyler Moore and Sara Howard.
We can assume to see Douglas Smith appear for his role as Marcus Isaacson, Brian Geraghty as Theodore Roosevelt, Matthew Shear as Lucius Isaacson, Matt Lintz as Stevie Taggart and Robert Ray Wisdom as Cyrus.
New faces may emerge as well, but we need to wait to know about it.
We do not know who’ll play who in Angel of Darkness but we do know that there will be historical characters like women’s rights leader Elizabeth Cady Stanton, painter Albert Pinkham Ryder and lawyer Clarence Darrow.

The Plot of season 2:


After the events of The Alienist, which shows Sara Howard who is now a private detective on the pursuit to rescue the baby daughter of a  Spanish dignitary who has been kidnapped with the help of Dr Kreizler.
Kreizler joins back with Sarah, John Moore, as well as other members, track the missing infant, leading them an encounter of an ominous woman with a deadly past, who has connections with a gang.
The second season adapts the second book is something that we have to keep our eye on. The first season was shown to have a bit of relevance with the current age that we live in, observed by one of the main cast members, Daniel Brühl.

Sara’s journey, had her explore from the issues that we face even to this day and age, including sexual harassment, suppressing women’s rights, and abuse of power. We’ll surely be going more in-depth into these themes with the second season.
