The Last Kingdom has gained popularity with the historical drama it creates. It is based on The Saxon Stories novel series written by Bernard Cornwell. The show is back with its fourth season.
The filming of the show began in July 2019 and is supposed to release this year. The team has also been active on their social media handles like Twitter and Instagram to give us updates on the show.
The son of Uhtred named Uhtred was captured and bought up by Danes is a Saxon boy, and now they have made him one of their own.
Later somehow, the Danes found that he has betrayed and killed his foster father, who is a Danish warlord named Ragnar, the Elder. Uhtred is then forced to leave the land of Danish and move to Wessex (which now might be England) and is not under their control anymore.
And then he betrays the whole Danes dynasty by revealing their war strategies to the Wessex king, Alfred.
Alexander Dreymon will be back as Uhtred of Bebbanburg, and he will be seen challenging his uncle Aelfric, played by Joseph Millson with the alliances that have been made between the broken kingdoms.
And the cast that is expected to return this season includes Ian Hart as Father Beocca, Toby Regbo as Aethelred, Emily Cox as Brida, Timothy Innes as Kind Edward, Eliza Butterworth as Aelswitha, Mark Rowley as Finan, Millie Brady as Sethelflaed, Magnus Bruun as Cnuta and Jeppe Beck Laursen as Haesten.
Stefanie Martini and Jamie Blackley will join as Eadith and Eardwulf respectively.
