There’s nothing official about the plot of The Mandalorian Season 2. The final episode of Season 1, “Chapter 8: Redemption,” sets out the path forward. During the episode, the Mandalorian Din Djarin has the last meet with the Armorer (Emily Swallow). She makes it explicit what honor demands of the Mandalorian, explaining Din Djarin and Baby Yoda as of the same clan.

The Mandalorian Season 2 will continue Din Djarin’s search for Baby Yoda’s homeworld: a mystery as old as Yoda himself.

“I never figured where he came from,” Star Wars creator George Lucas said, in an interview timed to the release of 2005’s Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. Maybe it’s somewhere, but I don’t know what it is.”

While The Mandalorian Season 2 will continue the hunt, there’s no guarantee the episodes premiering in 2020 will have a final answer for us.
