One of the most heartbreaking moments in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe occurred in Avengers: Infinity War when Iron Man was forced to watch Spider-Man vanish from existence due to Thanos’ decimation. Fortunately, Iron Man and the rest of surviving heroes were able to reverse Thanos’ decimation and the billionaire genius reunited with Spider-Man during the climactic showdown against the Mad Titan.
The team came up with an alternate reunion scene before the one we saw. In the original Endgame moment, there were other characters too, but the team soon realised that Peter and Tony’s connection should take centre stage without any distractions.

Lately, the team behind Avengers: Endgame sat down for an interview with Slashfilm where they spoke about the gigantic task of putting all the emotions of different characters in one parallel line. It was one of the most important scenes of the film and needed to be beyond perfect.
The Iron Man and Spider-Man reunion scene were one of the more heartwarming moments of Avengers: Endgame, mixing both comedy and genuine drama. “The first time we shot it, Peter and Tony reunite, and Pepper’s [Potts] nearby, and Tony goes, ‘Uh, Peter, do you know Pepper?’ – ‘Nice to meet you!’ explained Jeff”. Jeff said about It’s one of those crazy meet-cutes in the middle of a fight
“He hugs him, and they have this thing, but it felt very incidental like they ran into each other at an airport or something,” explained Jeff.
He revealed how they went about the change. “We watched it, and they were both great in the scene, but it was like a comedy scene, so it had this schtick quality to it.
