Here’s what we know about Sex Education Season 2.

Has Sex Education been renewed by Netflix?

Yes! Sex Education has been renewed for another season by Netflix. The show will return with eight more episodes.

Show-creator Laurie Nunn said, “The reception to series one has been so exciting.”

She also said, “Seeing how people across the world have connected to characters that began as ideas in my head is incredible. I’m hugely grateful to every person that has taken the time to watch the series, and I can’t wait to continue this amazing journey.”

Nunn had revealed earlier that work on the Second season had started even before the renewal was officially confirmed.

Sex Education Season 2: Expected Release Date

Netflix has not yet confirmed when the show will release, but we know that filming has officially started.

Netflix could likely be aiming towards an early 2020 release, not unlike the First Season.

The Story So Far

Sex education Season 1 showed Otis growing in confidence and making subtle moves towards his sex therapy business partner, Maeve. In the end, we see Otis enjoying a kiss with Ola (Patricia Allison), Otis’ mum’s handyman’s daughter. (Too complex!)

On the other hand, Maeve realizes that her boyfriend Jackson isn’t the one for her. When she decides to make a move on Otis, she discovers him kissing Ola. (Too late Maeve, or is it?)

Meanwhile, Otis’ best friend Eric (Ncuti Gatwa) hooked up (finally!) with the headmaster’s son, Adam (Connor Swindells). Who doesn’t like bad boys, right Eric?

We can’t say that we didn’t expect such an outcome. Gatwa said in an interview, “Adam is weirdly obsessed with Eric actually. He’s always holding something phallic near his mouth when he’s watching Eric. All the signs are there.”

Who Will We See In Sex Education Season 2 Cast?

It has been confirmed by Netflix that all of the main cast will be returning. Gillian Anderson as Jean, Emma Mackey as Maeve, Asa Butterfield as Otis, Aimee-Lou Wood as Aimee, Ncuti Gatwa as Eric, Connor Swindells as Adam, Tanya Reynolds as Lily, Kedar Williams-Stirling as Jackson and Patricia Allison as Ola.

Stay tuned for updates on this series.
