2019 has been a year that has seen the release of several influential movies. Especially Joker has stood very steadily in this arena. It has made it’s impression to the entire world as a movie that needs to be watched and, most importantly, experienced. Thanks to DC ( Detective Comics), the film has attracted a massive mass.
Joaquin Phoenix, the actor who has acquired the love and respect of people with beautiful movies such as Her and Gladiator, has played the role of the Joker in the film. He is perceived as a significant and talented actor in the industry.
Is it true that Joaquin Phoenix has asked the director Todd Phillips to make a sequel of Joker?
Well, it might come as a surprise to all, but he has admitted that he has asked the director of Joker Todd Philips to make a sequel of the movie during the shoot. “Long before the release or before we had any idea if it would be successful, we talked about sequels,” Phoenix told the Los Angeles Times.
Although we are not sure is he was serious, the thought of it sends a chill down the spine. He teased: “It was kind of in jest – but not really.”
The actor has also said that “I wouldn’t just do a sequel just because the first movie is successful. That’s ridiculous.” He has mentioned that he believes there is a lot more aspects to explore, but in the end, he has admitted that the production is not planning for a sequel.
The story revolves around severe issues. There are indeed a lot more aspects to explore, as mentioned by Phoenix. But we are not sure of what comes next. No matter if there is a sequel, Joker will remain as a movie to be remembered.
