“Where I am taking you, there is no return” those were the lines that took her away from the show, but certainly, the return of our favorite Felicity Smoak has finally arrived. The night of Nov 1st brought with it some great news for all the Arrow fanatics as Stephen Amell took to his Twitter to announce the return of his co-actor Emily Bett Richards.
Emily was introduced in the show in the third episode as Felicity Smoak, who was a one-off character but soon gained popularity and became an essential part of the family. Felicity, who played the love interest of Oliver, was last seen in the show in the finale episode of season 7, when future Felicity visited Oliver’s grave along with adult Mia and William, from where she was taken away by Monitor.
“I’ve been waiting a very long time to see him. I’m ready.” Felicity told Monitor, implying to her meeting Oliver, which is the character played by Stephen Amell. It is presumed that in the finale episode of Season 8, Felicity will reunite with Oliver as a follow-up scene to her last appearance.
In May, the CW President Mark Pedowitz said that they would “love to have” Emily back on the show if the writers and producer could include her in some way that made sense and if the actor was available. Later we saw Marc Guggenheim, the consulting producer of Arrow tweeting his approval by stating, “We couldn’t be happier or more thrilled. No other way to do our finale”. On Friday, he announced that in the coming weeks, the viewers would witness the reappearance of some of the old characters. Rick Gonzalez also revealed the return of Joe Dinicol, who portrayed the role of Ragman in the fifth season of the show.
Season 8 has, by far, been a joy ride for all the viewers thanks to the comebacks of their favorite characters. So, the announcement has just made the season even more special as it brought back the most awaited returns of Felicity Smoak and Rory Regan, a.k. A Ragman.
