After their recent successful summer release, the Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo bid adieu to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but the duo is ready to come back under this condition. Find out what that is.
One of the best American Franchise directed by the duo Joe and Anthony Russo came to an end this summer, starting from Captain America: The Winter Solider and then went to end the universe with the release one of the most awaited movie Avengers: End Game. The duo is now working on their own individual projects but are open to coming back together for more Marvel movies. However, they have their own condition for doing so and here’s what we know.
In a conversation with SyfyWire, the Russo Brothers revealed that the door to their return isn’t closed yet. Given the very recent Disney and Fox merger has made the directors open to explore the storylines with the new characters namely X-Men, Deadpool and Fantastic Four. The condition that will bring them back as confessed by the directors in an interview is the opportunity to make more movies on these new characters.
They also spoke about their love of film making that Marvel afforded them, but they also like smaller stories, which are more specific in nature so for them moving forward means moving back and forth between these two formats
Joe said in a candid interview that he grew on up on these characters, [John] Byrne’s X-Men run. Ben Grimm was his favourite character growing up, the Thing, and Fantastic Four is now in the Marvel fold. He also spoke about Silver Surfer being an amazing character and that going really big in cosmic would be a lot of fun, and a lot of these things could attract them to making more movies in a similar format.
However, the duo is absolutely certain that they don’t want to work on a Disney + series. Joe also added that the arch of their first franchise ranging from Winter solider all the way to Endgame, that involved Tony and the Captain both go through both the Civil and Infinity war, there’s a flare for telling such long drawn stories, and it is what draws these comic book enthusiasts to making more movies like this, and we’ll hopefully see them soon back into this shared universe that many have enjoyed over the years.
